At Georgetown State School we are lucky to have a chaplain who works with us at Georgetown State School we are lucky to have a chaplain who works with us on a Wednesday and Thursday. The chaplaincy service is used as a communication tool for students to cope with the challenges and demands of the schooling year.
In 2016, our chaplain, Joe will be providing students with lessons based on the V.I.T.A.L program.
Joe also encourages students to demonstrate the values:
- Be Safe
- Be Responsible
- Be Respectful and
- Be Committed to Learning
In 2015, Georgetown SS was fortunate enough to have a visit from Simon and the Salvation Army. Simon kindly shared some Christmas spirit with the students and discussed the importance of family and spending quality time together. Last year the students were lucky enough to have a ride in the helicopter!
We also have religious education which is held once every few weeks. These religious classes are non-denominational and last for 45 minutes per session.
