Little Gems Children's Centre
the moment you enter Little Gems you can see the respect for the environment, and
the community. The staff are very motivated and are all qualified and undergo regular
training to keep up to date of best practices. Staff have under gone training in Small Green Steps
a sustainability program specifically developed for the early childhood
Gems have implemented The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) Belonging, Being and Becoming, and work
collaboratively with the staff at Georgetown State School to implement a
recognised transition program throughout the year to prepare the kindy kids for
entry to school. Jane and the team also work with the teachers to implement a
daily kindy program at the centre that provides early learning for children in
remote and rural settings who do not have access to specialised kindy centres.
Centre and its teaching feature a strong emphasis on sustainable practices and
include these as part of everyday life at the centre.
