The 2016 school year has got off to a great start in the upper classroom. We are a multi age class with 23 students:
- Year Three - 7 students
- Year Four - 5 students
- Year Five - 4 students
- Year Six - 7 students
We have all settled exceptionally well into our work routines and our new classroom environment.
The 2016 Georgetown SS Curriculum Plan is delivered to the multi age group with careful attention towards planning and the use of differentiation strategies to cater for our diverse student needs.
Our multi age classroom also allows for extended opportunities for our students to be challenged and extended in alignment with the Australian Curriculum and C2C (Curriculum into the Classroom) units and the use of explicit teaching and consolidation strategies.
This year we will focus on a variety of key learning areas including English, Maths, Geography, History, Science, The Arts, Civics and Citizenship and Health and Physical Education. Business and Economics and LOTE (Japanese) lessons will be offered to year five and six students as well.
We encourage parents and visitors to our classroom and we are always happy to have classroom helpers for activities such as guided reading, spelling etc.
